Task Policy

Last updated 2026-10-23.

Draft text. This document is a working draft for the demo installation. It must be completed and reviewed by a qualified lawyer before the service goes live.

This policy applies to everyone who posts or does tasks. It sits alongside the Terms of Service and the Advertising Policy.

How a task works

  • A sponsor writes the task, sets the price per unit of work and funds a budget from their Promote balance. A person at Centhead reviews every task before it is shown.
  • When a member starts a task, the price for that piece of work is reserved from the budget. Work that is accepted can therefore always be paid. If the member abandons it, the reservation is released.
  • Centhead keeps a flat 1% of the price; the member receives the rest. The price, the estimated time and the resulting hourly rate are shown to the member before they start.
  • Earnings are held for 45 seconds before they can be withdrawn and are reversed if the payment behind them is reversed.

Minimum rate

A task must pay at least $3.00 an hour for the time the sponsor estimates. Centhead does not accept tasks below that rate. Sponsors must estimate honestly: members see the estimate, and a task that regularly takes far longer than stated is paused.

Review, rejection and disputes

  • Surveys are paid automatically when a member completes them properly, unless the sponsor chose to review each response. Usability tests and local jobs are reviewed by the sponsor. Labelling is graded automatically against answers the sponsor supplied.
  • A sponsor reviewing work must accept it or reject it with a written reason of at least 10 characters. Work that is not reviewed within the sponsor’s review period (1 to 7 days) is accepted automatically and paid.
  • A member whose work is rejected can dispute it once, within 3 days. Centhead support reads the work, the reason and the explanation, and decides. While a decision is open the money stays reserved.
  • A sponsor who rejects most of the work they review is flagged and may lose the ability to post tasks.

Labelling quality

Every batch contains items whose answers the sponsor already knows. They are not paid, and a member never sees the same check item twice. A batch is accepted only if enough check items match. A member who repeatedly misses them is removed from that task. This protects sponsors from guessing and automation without anyone having to judge individual answers.

Local jobs: safety

  • A local job must be lawful, take place on public ground, involve no risk and not require entering any private property or home.
  • Jobs may not involve photographing people, children or vehicle number plates, collecting personal data about individuals, or any activity that needs a licence.
  • Photos handed in as proof have their location and camera data removed on upload and are visible only to the member, the sponsor and Centhead support.
  • Members decide for themselves whether to accept a job. Centhead does not insure them and is not their employer.

Not allowed

  • Tasks that ask for personal data, passwords, payment details or identity documents.
  • Tasks to obtain likes, comments, follows, subscriptions, reviews or votes on other platforms, to write fake reviews, or to deceive anyone.
  • Tasks that involve illegal content, adult content, gambling, harassment, or testing a site in a way that harms it or its users.
  • Using a second account or a shared network address to do your own tasks, answering with automation, or sharing answers.

Independent status and tax

Members who do tasks are independent. They are not employees or workers of Centhead or of the sponsor. Rewards may be taxable income; each member is responsible for their own tax.

Questions and reports

Report any task from the task list. Tasks with repeated reports are paused. Write to support@example.com for anything else.
